Fortingall
No 1 son, daughter-in-law, and 'bump' are with us for a few days as No 1 is going into Ross Hall in Glasgow tomorrow for an op. 'Bump' is now into mum's third trimester and is growing at the rate of knots.
It was a lovely day today so we decided to make the most of it and go out for a jaunt. First stop Fortingall high in the hills above Loch Tay and a beautiful part of the country.
Fortingall is a beautiful village with thatched cottages, a picturesque church and the oldest yew tree in europe at 5000 years old. There has been a Christian presence at fortingall since 563 AD.
The area is steeped in history with standing stones, cairns and cup-marked stones. It is well worth a visit.
Second stop Kenmore for lunch.
Third stop Glentully to visit The Highland Chocolatier and stock up with supplies!
