Evening cruise

Our last day in Nakhon Phanom was wonderful.   Hubby and I wandered around town and walked down by the river,  we covered almost 8 kilometers.  In the early evening we met up with our friend and her family and they took us on a river cruise.  It was a truly wonderful experience.  There was a group on board who had been friends for over 50 years.  It was wonderful watching the fishermen and seeing the sunset, although it actually stayed fairly light untill quiet late. Later we went to a cultural festival that was held on the river side promenade.  The stall holders were all dressed in their traditional costumes selling food from their regions.  There was also a show featuring music and dancing from the various regions.  People here are from Thai, Vietnamese and Laos backgrounds.
We really feel as if we now have family here and we know that we could come back anytime and be made welcome.  My extras are of part of the show and the variety of food on our table.
