My brother-in-law would have been 58 today.  He's been gone just over 7 months and I've still not come to terms with his death.  There are so many times, especially when his mother (my MIL) has done something funny or sweet that I reach for the phone to send him a text.  I miss him.  We all do.

If Philip had a "spirit bird" I am certain it would be a blue jay.  They are exuberant, incredibly smart, devoted to family and enjoy a good meal. 

That's all I have to say today.
