Mountains and bumps
This is Matthew with his mountain in the sandpit adding deliberate cracks to make it look spooky. 2 minutes later and he was jumping on another smaller mountain when he put a foot wrong and fell and landed head first on the concrete edge of the sandpit. After the initual tears and cuddles he protested loudly that he just wanted to go home but I insisted we at least ask the chemist for advice - and we're reassured he would be OK and no need to go to A&E. As we left he giggled at me opening the automatic door by using my knee to push the button and in the bike he chartered all the way home. Bit of a relief!
Then granny and grandad arrived to stay for a couple of days over half term and while playing a lovely game with grandad and a toy dinosaur he managed to tumble and land his cheek on the other side right on the edge of the coffee table. More tears but again soon better. He's going to look a right state tomorrow!
