Fluffy 1147 hr (Friday 26th May)

Friday is Gardening Morning and as both gardener Refna and myself had birthdays during the week, we celebrated with a sumptuous take-away prepared by my next-door neighbours at Foxglove And Ginger. There was an extra guest at the garden table beforehand as we had a cup of Chai.

Fluffy's staff will be moving house before too long, so she won't be around here after that. I shall miss her, but I think Smokey's feelings may be more mixed.

Lozarhythm Of The Day:
The Beatles - Getting Better (2017 Remix) (recorded 9-25 March 1967, Abbey Road, London)(needs Spotify)
The new 50th anniversary remix of Sgt Pepper was released on this day and my copy of the 2CD version arrived mid-morning. On first play, Getting Better seemed to have benefitted most strikedly from the original 1967 master. It took five days and seven engineers to create the version from which the master was created.
The Beatles spent three months mixing the original mono album, whilst engineers spent only three days sometime later on the less important stereo version. The CD versions used the stereo mix, considered inferior to the mono by most afficionados, so Giles Martin's new remix attempted, very successfully, to replicate the mono's punchiness and clarity but in a new 3D stereo mix.
