Bumble Bees

There is no shortage of Bumble Bees in the garden and these are one of their favourite pollen providers at this time of year. I counted 5 species in just over 5 minutes buzzing around the flowers with a multitude of hoverflies to keep them company.

These are Bombus hortorum of which there were a large number foraging on the blooms. Although the morning started with a chill, the sun rose and I was pleased to see a sky of predominant blue throughout the day. Perfect weather for these little creatures. Looking out of the window now, I almost wish I'd waited to blip as the sky has become a marvellous pink with the setting sun.

I'm still trying to catch up on all that has or hasn't happened in ten days absence, so journal commenting is still difficult. I hope to get back to normal in a couple of days. In the mean time, I have managed to back blip Scotland Day 2 for you to see if you'd like.
