Focus

Music is my focus this week, with the Whatcom Chorale's performance of the Brahms Requiem coming up on Sunday afternoon. As I noted last week, I'm one of three second altos who were asked to help out the tenors with this challenging work. 

I bought my own score (95 pages) weeks ago and had marked the alto line in detail. Over the past two days, I've erased most of those notations and marked the tenor line in detail, hearing the music in my head as I did so.

Before our evening rehearsal on Tuesday, I'll go over some of the most challenging tenor passages, and no doubt will make additional notes during the rehearsal. On Saturday, we have a two-hour rehearsal with the orchestra, so I'll need to have a firm grasp of my part by then! 

My apologies for not being "present" here recently as much as I like to be. June is shaping up to be a busy month as well, but at least I won't be singing in any concerts!
