Southern Marsh Orchid
We've had a very quiet day today... This morning I went for a walk around RSPB Fowlmere quiet early before there were many people about. That was good because nobody saw me crawling about in the decidedly soggy patch where beautiful orchid was growing. A couple of weeks ago on Lindisfarne I found a Northern Marsh Orchid and here is the Southern Marsh Orchid.
The extra is a view of the old shed at the top of the reserve which I guess goes back to when the place was a Watercress Farm. There is still quite a bit of watercress growing here but apparently eating it is not advised because of Liver Fluke.
