Life through the lens...

Sapphire Anniversary

Last night I went with friends to the Shappire Anniversary dinner of our local Flower Club.
We were all given one of these little plants to keep as a memento.
They couldn't have given me anything better, as it is one of my favourite flowers, an agapanthus. This one is named "Navy Blue". I didn't know, but according to the label they are the "Flower of Love".
The nursery where they came from are Holders of the National Collection, so will have to pay them a visit!

We had a wonderful evening.
I joined the club in 1970 not long after it started.
Was on the committee for many years, and became Chairman.
I left about 10 years ago, but it was nice to see so many old faces and catch up with what everyone has been doing.
We had a superb meal, and the speaker was so funny, I haven't laughed so much for ages.
I left the club to do other things, but may go back as a guest to one of the meetings.
Flower arranging has changed a lot in the 10 years since I left, it will be nice to see some of the new styles.

THANKYOU all for your congratulations , hearts, stars, and kind comments on my 365th blip yesterday. (which hit the spotlight! Think I have only done that once before!)
I'm looking forward to the next year of blips!
