Look in the eyes of a Crow

Spent the morning on a leisurely walk around the village, calling in at the station to try and print out the tickets for tomorrow's trip to Manchester only to find that I'd written down the reference number incorrectly. On to the Farmers' Market on The Green which seemed very moribund and bereft of many farmers. It was mostly crafts rather than produce directly from the farm.

On to the allotment to check on the broad beans some of which were ready to pick so we brought a bag back for later. We passed this Crow sitting boldly on a fence on the way home. (S)he was content to wait while I took a photo, striking several poses so that I could get its best side. I never knew their eyes were blue.

Lunch was out at the Sunday Carvery at the Weald of Kent Golf Club where we joined many others to enjoy a 4 course lunch which ended with cheese and biscuits (most of which we took home). The were several large parties of people celebrating various events, the largest being a group of some 40 people helping Albert celebrate his 90th birthday. Our lunch was by way of a thank you from Doreen to us for all the work and time involved in getting her house sorted following the water leak last year.

With heavy stomachs, we travelled home to enjoy a quiet late afternoon getting over the lunch. I managed to plant out some tomatoes into growbags and also did the shopping online. We didn't eat much the rest of the day, just a bit of cheese and some fruit salad late in the evening
