Mantis Diary 18

I was surprised to see this mantis after such cold weather. She is not the same one that I blipped a week ago, although it was the same place. Her wings were partly open, which is unusual. Since they remained open when she walked about I think they are probably damaged.

A few days ago I found another fresh egg case in close proximity, but can’t tell which female laid it. This brought the total to a mere six for the season.
