Ox-eye Daisies
Another scorcher for our final day of fieldwork at Whitemoor, but fortunately we only had four compartments to survey so were finished by three. The warm weather has stimulated a flush of Ox-eye Daisies, which I always feel epitomise summer. The highlight of the day was a trip on a shunting engine, much more fun then trudging back along the tracks!
In the evening we had a barbecue with some friends. Alex has proved himself to be a very good barbecue chef and the meat was all very succulent, with no burnt bits at all. Two of our guests are getting married in the autumn, and I was very flattered to be asked to photograph their wedding, which will be taking place in a marquee and is planned to be a relatively informal affair. It should be fun...
