Last day in the USA

At 0900 we started the long journey towards the UK and home.

The drive to San Francisco took nearly 5 hours. The cars have been very comfortable, but it's a long haul with just a short stop for a drink and loos en route.

At the airport we went our various ways. Only one of the party was due on a BA flight today and he was waiting to hear when he could rebook. (This was due to BA having to cancel all its flights from Heathrow and Gatwick.) Some people were staying on.

My flight was at 1730 and we boarded OK but then had a 3 hour delay due to a technical error. That made the flight 13 hours instead of 10.

Once we were given clearance, we taxied to the runway but then had to wait while several planes came in. I was shooting through the glass after sunset for this shot. They piled in, one after another, until finally there was a large enough gap for us to slip through.
