As a contrast.......

A large block of flats near where we stayed. The Cuban population seem to be reasonably well looked after, though this block was a bit tatty. No-one looked unkempt or unwell, all were fashionably dressed, and the many hospitals (and medical expertise therein) are the envy of the world. There were very few beggars, the only hassle was from taxi drivers - though I did have to laugh at one who had a pony trap taxi. He said "Lady, your horse awaits you."
