Mind Games, Double Fantasy, Starting Over

My job has got less interesting. Most of the good bits seem to have evaporated. So, when I saw a job advert at Falmouth University, I was intrigued. Intrigued enough to apply. It was a big pay cut and only an 18 month term, but... I was offered an interview and organised to go down on Monday ahead of an interview on Tuesday. But... but.. after a lot of thinking, C and I decided that our choices (either C would have to give up her job as well, or we would be faced with a 300 mile weekend commute) just didn't make sense. And so, reluctantly, I cancelled the interview.

Now, of course, it's clear that I should just have gone for it and, if I got the job, C should have just resigned and spent her time applying for jobs down there.

I know that we made the right decision, but it still feels wrong.
