Mackintosh Detail

This is a landmark on my Blips today, it is my 100th entry. Although the weather is so dreich today, I have tried to celebrate this with an image from the Mackintosh Church.

There are so many interesting details within this building, so I have decided to focus on a lesser known image. This is a photograph of the carving beside the stage in the Church Hall.

The symbolism carved into the various elements of the church can be approached but never explained fully.

We have a very busy weekend ahead, as Saturday and Sunday are Doors Open Day, which celebrates Glasgow Built Heritage.
