I Have No Idea What's She's Doing

Lizzie spent some quality time rolling around in the grass this evening, an odd pastime even for her.  Something in the grass had her really interested,  The first thing that came to my mind was catnip but there was none in sight.  To make matters more curious, she was growling and her tail was twitching.  She refused to get up and I was starting to worry because my neighbor upstairs had let his cat out and I was afraid Lizzie would catch sight of him.  She wouldn't let me pick her up.  Picking up Lizzie requires some preparation.  She really has to be sitting at least halfway up because I can't pick her up when she's lying down.  She's exactly like a water balloon -- when you pick up the front end, a large portion of her substantial bulk simply blobs down to her tail and she slips right out of your grip.  I have to be able to pick her up a certain way and I only have one shot at it before she realizes what's happening and takes defensive measures.   She just continued to roll around and kind of growl to herself. Finally, I went inside and got a jacket with long sleeves to put on in case she took a swipe at me, which she did.  I managed to get her in the house before she spotted Buddy or he saw her.   Disaster averted, at least for now.
