Dragonflies and bears
" The meaning of a dragonfly changes with each culture. The main symbolisms of the dragonfly are renewal, positive force and the power of life in general. Dragonflies can also be a symbol of the sense of self that comes with maturity. Also, as a creature of the wind, the dragonfly frequently represents change. And as a dragonfly lives a short life, it knows it must live its life to the fullest with the short time it has - which is a lesson for all of us. "
I had better photos today of bears playing - but in this one a dragonfly got caught in front of the bear - so I was happy with that. This is Helios - a good bear to be caught with a symbol for change and survival - he lost his right front foot at the elbow when he was trapped in the wild and taken into a bear farm... Then 17 months ago his owner voluntarily relinquished him to our bear rescue centre as his daughter had convinced him it just wasnt right to keep a bear caged for bile collection.... He was our first voluntary case so again another symbol of change - in public opinion.
