The hottest day of the year...so far.  Everything looks so good in brilliant sunshine, and it was still shining when I went to bed at around 10.30pm.

This greenfinch was quite relaxed, whistling in the tree above me, trying to compete with a very noisy starling who was going through a range of songs, including a blackbird impression.

Extra is a linnet - the first one I have snapped.
