Luray Caverns

The plan today was to drive the Skyline Drive....we started but it was thick fog and rain! We went after about 25 miles and stopped at the visitor centre. If the weather was clear we would have had views over the Shenandoah River and the Appellation Mountains alas it wasn't to be so we gave up and came off the drive to visit the caverns and below the cloud it was a beautiful day.

Steve wasn't feeling very g
reat, so he and Sarah chilled out and Matt and I visited the caves. It was absolutely mind blowing, the size of the caverns was just amazing and there we so many different types of formations! The extra photos are of a reflecting pool, no photograph Woukd do it justice!!

We then drove along country roads through West Virginia....guess what song we were singing! We drove to Charles Town and stopped at a Motel 6....not the best! Steve was feeling a little better by the end of the day and After we had a lovely meal at a Sports Bar caked Applebees. Yummy steak and chips with broccoli....yaay
