Aquamarine/Nanna K's Day

These guys honk a lot, very loud,. VERY early, waking us up.   Those chicks grow inches every day.   Today I watched the 2 families, one with 4 and one with 5 chicks. (top)  there is a childless couple that hangs about our beach that went up to the groups and caused a big ruckus..lots of honking and splashing for a few minutes  (middle)  and then they backed away and the 2 families continued on their way.(bottom).   Not sure what that was all about.

Another chapter for the Island life musings.    Last night our 25 year old well pump gave up.   So no water.   The good news is we managed to get the water guy from Galiano over here this afternoon to check what was needed.   But it’s the weekend now.  The bad news is the pump comes from Victoria by courier on the ferry to Galiano on TUES.   (Unless the water guy or his daughter go pick it up on Monday!)  It’s odd to have no water when there is power to run everything else.   Just a bit of adjusting….like camping.   Now I don't have to feel guilty about not washing the windows.  And I’m happy that our family that usually is here for this holiday weekend couldn’t come this year.  How did they know?       It will be worth a blip when it’s here!
