Reprobates

I am part of a small group of ageing gentlemen who go on outings from time to time.  This time it was to Carrifran Wildwood in the Scottish Borders.  It is a place where Borders Forestry Trust have planted thousands of trees - native and raised locally - to return the area to its original habitat.  they are making great progress.

Woodland birds are returning, the undergrowth is filling.  the mixed planting is in contrast to much of the surrounding hillsides where blocks of regimented conifers economically and efficiently grow and wait to be harvested.

It is surrounded by a fence to keep the deer out.  But we found a way in.
