The Day The Telephone Didn't Ring

It is always the case that after a Thursday Feiertag* that most people take the Friday off and make a long weekend of it.

That "most" is important here.  If you're as dithery and incapable of making plans as I am, then you forget and you end up being the lonely bloke in the office while everyone else is outside enjoying the sunshine and fresh-air.

I almost didn't go in - I couldn't sleep last night and when I did fall asleep at just after 20 to 4 I thought "I'll never get up for work".  However, I surprised myself and manged to get in and accomplished some things that I needed to concentrate fully on.  That was great.

I passed this field this morning and there were cornflowers, poppies, barley & rapeseed in it.  Some swine has nicked the poppies.  Still, any excuse to feature cornflowers...
