Evening Reflections

What a scorcher of a day.  I left the house just after 6.30am and didn’t need a coat for the first time this year – in fact I didn’t really need my cardigan either.  It was another busy day at the office.  I did venture out for twenty minutes at lunchtime.  Any longer and I may not have gone back.

I struggled with my journey home as it was so hot.  The train was hot, but at least I got a seat, and then the car was hot.  I picked up a hot and bothered BB from after school club.  Our kitchen was pleasantly cool when we got home and he didn’t want to move, however he had cubs and I was the parent helper this evening.  However I was let off my helping duties as they had decided just to spend the evening in the park – to make the most of the good weather.

I did some grocery shopping and had a wander by the river.

Once we were home I had to make some “top hats” for him to take to school tomorrow.  I now need to go and wrap someone’s birthday presents.  Eleven years ago tonight (and it was a Thursday night) I was in hospital.  I wasn’t allowed to eat anything while TT was brought tea and toast.  Little did I know that it was going to be a very long time before my next meal!

It was a lovely evening down by the river.  You may just be able to make out the swans and their cygnets.
