Belated backblipping....

We got up, had breakfast and checked out of the Victory in Mersea this morning - and then went for another last wander along the waterfront.  Drove to Colchester next, and had a walk around the town, with Mum pointing out various places of significance to her (where she and my Dad used to go on dates, and where they had their wedding reception).  We  bought some lunch and ate it in Castle Park, then went back to the car and drove it over to Greyfriars - Mum's old school, which is now a posh hotel.  

Checked in there and got shown around our massive hotel room (and its own private courtyard - how the other half live, eh?!)  We decided to make the most of the room - and the outdoor space, so didn't bother going out for dinner.  Instead, I very classily went out and bought a biryani for us to share, and we sat outside to eat it, with a glass of wine.  Lovely!
