Nuthatch

I was hoping to be posting a special blip tonight but it was not to be so I have turned the camera on the elder tree.  It's late and lots of birds are singing their roosting songs but a couple of hard-working parents are still flying back and forth feeding young.  The last two in the elder tree are this nuthatch and a blue tit, both looking thin and bedraggled which is not surprising.  

A friend invited me in to see her television last night and I did wonder why till I saw that she has a camera in her birdbox and there were nine blue tits being fed on screen, fabulous!  Outside I watched as a parent arrived, bobbed in and then flew off, in the direction of our feeders.  Springwatch on the doorstep!

I will be catching up with journals soon but I have a list of things which have to be done first, sadly.
