Cul Mor

Decided to head north west today in the hope of being able climb Stac Pollaidh ... an impressive little hill on the road to Achiltiebuie, north of Ullapool. (See my blip of August 30th)

We had every kind of weather ... sunshine, rain, cloud, wind, hailstones, but got some lovely views on the way up and down and from the summit ridge. We climbed as far as the cairn on the summit ridge but did NOT attempt to scramble over the rocks and pinnacles to the true summit at the western end of the ridge! It's reckoned to be the most difficult scramble on the Scottish mainland and as such is definitely way beyond my level of competence and courage!

Was spoiled for choice for today's blip but decided on this view of Cul Mor from Stac Pollaidh in that I had posted a blip of Stac Pollaidh itself a couple of weeks ago.
