University of Alicante

This morning I was fortunate to have the opportunity to visit our local university ..... the University of Alicante......
three of us attended as representatives of our U3A
The excursion was organised by our local Town Hall........about 50 of us enjoyed a guided tour of the University Campus....

followed by an address by a lecturer, who described an educational programme, at the University, specifically aimed at Senior Citizens........
they have identified that retirees, who have a longer life expectancy, benefit from an 'education for life' programme........
The hope is, that this successful programme can be delivered locally, in our town,.... without the need for students to travel the 50-60 km to and from Alicante.
The proposed plan is at an embryonic stage - today's excursion was an attempt to identify any potential interest in such University courses being offered in Alfaz.
Fingers crossed that this scheme comes to fruition-- this year, or next!
