But is it art?

Today I am at The Slade taking a look at the current work.

When I was at my very classical, very strict art school in the 1970's, painters who got a place at this school painted like Sickert. 

Not today it seems. 

Multi media is the name of the day, with varying levels of success. The one to look out for is Ernie Wang who's whimsical, childlike pieces range from a brass Thomas the Tank Engine to two dimensional simulated cities and a charming video of an amoeba creature walking through the undergrowth. You've got to see it to appreciate it.

As for the picture above. It's the sink the artists wash their brushes in.
