Little beauties
Many more hours spent today sorting through books and clearing cupboards - gosh I certainly have so many books, and the charity shop will be receiving another 3 big boxes of them. Years ago I read one of those silly personality things about myself and it said I am the type of person who would spend her last few pennies on flowers - actually that is more likely to be books (although chocolate comes a close second these days!) I switched to reading from a Kindle about 5 years ago and I would hate to see the amount of books in our house if I hadn't!
However it was such a beautiful day, sunny and so warm that I dragged myself away from my dusty task and went out for a walk with Murdoch where I took this photo - I know it is not a forget -me-not but I think it is from the same family, although everyone knows I am hopeless at plant names so it could be something entirely different.
Interesting to read the news reports that are coming in from the Manchester bombing which happened two days ago on the 22nd of May. By now most of you will be aware of the scary link to the 22nd of the month - Lee Rigby died on the 22nd May 2013, the Brussels attack occurred on the 22nd March 2016, the Munich attack happened on the 22nd July 2016, and the Westminster tragedy took place on the 22nd March 2017. I think I will make sure I am safely at home on the 22nd of July this year and will not plan to be near any large venue on the 22nd of any month!
In the overwhelming news about the Manchester tragedy, the death of Roger Moore slipped by almost unnoticed. What a loss, to me he was the ultimate James Bond.
