Up early and headed just round the corner for a wee remote 2000 footer.
A cracking path up a river with a narrow gorge and cascading waterfalls.
Higher up green grass patch with summer shielings in the mono light brown landscape.
A cracking loch and then a boulder strewn ridge. Barking deer gave a eerie soundscape in the silence. Higher up golden plover channelled me away from their nests and a solitary ptarmigan scurried off.
A trig point of local rocks lay just short of the highest point.
A descent into the rock scattered corrie with an occasional Rowan and holly surviving on large boulders.
The river exposing the remains of an ancient forest held in the peat. This so called wilderness is over grazed and desolate eco system.
As I headed lower along the gorge, trees increased and the sound of birds returned to the world.
A crash had closed the road, so I paddled in the cold sea awaiting the road to open.
Air ambulance headed off and road reopened, it looked like a motor cyclist had a head on with a car.
Lunch and a day with eco mum and juno.
