Heartbreaking news

All across the country we woke up to the news of the terrorist attack at Manchester Arena. Collectively we struggled to take in what had happened and felt such deep sadness and grief.
The reporting continued throughout the day from my beloved home town and messages arrived on my Facebook from friends in Italy and America who wanted to express their shock and disbelief and stand together with the people of Manchester and the UK. My heart breaks at the thought that our young people were targeted.
Only a couple of weeks ago my daughter and her friends were at a music concert at the same arena. I imagine the young people yesterday were as excited as they had been that finally the date they had been waiting months and months for had arrived. My thoughts and prayers are with everyone affected by the atrocity that happened there and especially those who will never see their loved ones again.
