Making a statement

A terrific day in Vienna started out with this view of someone on their mobile phone.  I've no idea if this was street art - or just someone who dated to be noticed.  If the latter it worked.

A glorious warm sunny day and we took the tram around the ring - and negotiated the underground.  Masses of photos of what is a superb city architecturally.  And it has a very relaxed feel.  It felt a bit uneasy for us to be enjoying ourselves with Manchester facing such tragedy.  But as everyone says life must go on.

In line with my comments yesterday - and many thanks for the comments on my 1500 - this makes the blip and i include some extras from inside the Vienna State Opera where we went to see a powerful and emotional rendition of Der Rosenkavalier.  We've not seen the opera in full before and the performance was hugely aided with subtitles on individual screens.  Seeing all of the stage was a challenge at time - but the music and the performances were stunning.  As I won't be going there again on this trip some of my photos make the extras.  The city will have to wait for another day.
