Wound up in Wexford

Otherwise known as Carex grayi.  You can see where it gets its common name from.

I've had another day at work - in the office most of the day, ploughing my way through x-ray reports, checking that we hadn't missed anything important, and making a few phone calls where we had.

I gather it's been a lovely day.  The only bit of the garden still in the sun this evening was the "grass bed" alongside the polytunnel.  We are gradually developing a bed of mainly grasses, with perhaps some other plants interspersed - the whole thing is rather lacking in height at the moment.  Looking for inspiration this evening watching Monty at the Chelsea flower show.

Our pond seems to have sprung a leak, and when we rang to ask Ian (the original designer) to visit and help us with sorting it out, he told us he couldn't come for a few days, as he had been involved in building the Broadland "Artisan" garden - he texted us this morning to tell us they had won a gold medal!  We're worried that he might be out of our price range now.
