A very Cretan corner
We're doing another of our Mad dogs and Englishmen things. It's almost 1pm, and the sun is baking the deserted streets of Polirinia. But we have ancient Polirinia in our sights, and head up through the maze of winding alleys to the uphill track that leads to the Acropolis.
Another lovey day. We saw the relatively new church dedicated to the 99 Righteous Men who accompanied St John the Hermit to Crete. We had a view to die for. The wild flowers were unbelievably wonderful. And on our way down we met an old but fiery goatherd who approved of Scots but not Germans. And then we met a delightful German who told us jokes in English. Life is strange ...
