Pop Concerts

The thing that's got to me most about last night's atrocity is, even more than the basic fact that children were targeted, that they were targeted at what should have been the most fantastically exciting night in their young lives.

Go to a pop concert and just look at the joy on the faces of those who you can just tell are at their first ever gig. When teenagers (and younger) scream at concerts, it's not really at the act on stage, it's just an expression of the sheer unadulterated joy of being there and sharing it with their friends.

Someone looking at an arena full of excited kids and seeing not children but targets - that's what made my blood run cold.

We used to go to Manchester Arena a lot back in the day, and the last time we were there was to see Kylie - she was awesome, and the place was full of kids screaming their lungs out, having their first 'best night of their lives'.
