Light falling on cut fir

I included a pic of a large fir that we had taken down earlier this week. Its bucked rounds are lying waiting to be split and stacked, a job that will take a lot of time over the summer. Meanwhile their surfaces are an endless source of intriguing patterns and textures. So as the WBC is Geometric Patterns, I thought I would post this one to mark the day. 
Had a lovely visit with NannaK this morning. Followed by some garden, deck, reading time. Back to Vancouver for a couple of days tomorrow.
