Crazy Birds
Back to routine after an exciting weekend. Tobi and I sat outside in the sun with our coffee this morning after class.. Outside tables are at a premium at Acre and two women with a perfect one were just leaving as we walked out with that long gaze that says, ' looking for a table.'.
At home I managed to deadhead some roses and take some flowers to the neighbor next door whose 16 year old cat went missing on Saturday night. It's difficult to lose a pet and even more difficult not to know what happened.
OilMan and I looked through the book called Nourish which Walking Wombat sent us from Australia. It is the most wonderful cookbook of recipes submitted by the parents of kids in the local Blackheath school, Beautifully published with mouth watering pictures, it is difficult to decide which thing to cook, so we decided we'll just work our way through the book from beginning to end. Tonight we're having Thai Prawn Stir Fry with Chillies and Basil.
By the time I went outside to take a picture it was white hot and glaring. In one of those accidental shots, I caught these Streletzia with the sun lighting up their wild plumage. These two facing in opposite directions look like they are having words. We have an especially large stand of them this year, a result of all the rain, and they just might be fighting for their space....reminds me of the time two men got in a physical fight over their spaces in my yoga class...but that's a story for another time....
