Iris

This is the brown iris I referred to the other day.  Not sure what variety it is, an old friend gave it to me almost 20 years ago.  The flowers are spectacular and measure 5-6 inches across and the spikes are very tall,  they stand almost a foot higher than my purple iris. It has very little scent but is an absolute beauty.
I can't seem to capture the rich brown shade or the velvet appearance of the petals no matter how I play with it.  I'll put a couple more shots in as extras.
