135 million years ago...

...India was just next door!

The Darling Scarp and Fault where we live here in the hills east of Perth demarcate the separation of Western Australia and India when they were once fused as part of the super continent of Gondwanaland.
The Fault is over 1000km long and can be seen from space and the granodiorite rocks that are gleaming and glistening today with recent rains are old.
Very old... being born deep within the earth around 2.6 million years ago.

Lesmurdie Falls are those waters rushing down the slope and a sure sign the winter rains are with us as this is a dry and dusty scene in summer.
