The Ghost of Christmas Past...
...or the space where our tree used to be. If they can get away with this sort of thing in the Tate Modern, I don't see why I can't have a go. I think that the subtle division between the two halves of the peice suggest a certain absence juxtaposed against a promise of a new beginning, almost as if the artist is saying "Yes, the tree is gone but that very departure also offers a clean page on which to begin again."
Back to work today, everyone feeling pretty grim as far as I could tell. I do feel re-energised though and ready for the year ahead. I'm saying that now. Ask me at the end of the week though.
