Limnes Walk

At 1.30pm, we met our friends Steve & Julia who are staying in Elounda (Crete) in the village of Limnes near Neapolis. We followed walk 21 in the excellent Sunflower (publishers)  Eastern Crete book of car tours and walks that provides GPS co-ordinates, maps, and directions.

The blipfoto is taken just as we completed the climb to Vrises Village where a local was sat on the wall. The mountain village was deserted as everyone, bar this gent, was in the square outside the church tucking into food, obviously celebrating something. Why the gent in the photo wasn't with the rest of the village I don't know.

At 4pm we arrived back at the start and enjoyed an hour in a greek taverna. Wine (half litre) Lemonades, bread, olives, and a pile of food including fries totalled £8! It was the only place we've left a tip of 50%!

At 8pm we met up with our other friends, John & Stella, staying in Malia who arrived on Friday. They came out last year to visit us and took us to a restaurant they enjoy in Old Malia. Another late night out and day gone so fast!
