The sun has brought the Iris Sibirica into flower

I really love the flowers of this Iris but find individual flowers don't last too long.  Some of the clumps are quite large now, so hopefully the whole clumps will provide flowers for a few weeks yet.

It's been a gardening day for me, not too hot and never too cold with sun and cloud.  I've managed to prepare the runner bean plot and even to reconstruct the cane frame.  I've tried planting directly in the soil this year, which I don't usually do, so we'll see what happens.  I might plant a few in pots as an emergency back-up too.
