Gold Dragon

After six and a half years' blipping, I'm always excited when I capture something I've never photographed before - in this case, something I'd never even seen before! I was so lucky that this dragonfly perched long enough for me to grab some shots.

It's also very gratifying when an online search provides a definitive identification. This is a female broad-bodied chaser (Libellula depressa). I was extra delighted when I noticed the delicate shadow of her lacy wings on the foxglove flower.
