Heavy metal

We drove over to Ennerdale and walked about 8.5 miles , two more Wainwrights, Great  Borne and Starling Dodd. Pretty hard going in places. At the top the wind was stronger than I've experienced for a long time. Nearly blew us off our feet! At least it didn't rain.
The top of Starling Dodd is marked by two cairns shown here, a traditional stone one and a pile of old bits of scrap fencing metal. Unusual!
I just took my phone and it's just as well because I couldn't have held my camera steady in the wind. It was nice to be unencumbered for once.
