Yes, I know it is just a little bit blurry, but I think the camera was a bit confused and thought I wanted to photograph the leaves. My excuse anyway.
MaggieD and I were exploring a stretch of river quite near us and thought we had spotted a nest hole in the far bank. Suddenly, there was a blue and gold flash and this wee birdie nipped into the branches to demolish his/her dinner in peace. We watched for a while as he/she flitted about and finally whizzed off upstream. So good to see and so close to home.
