Mr and Mrs Blue-Cheeked Rosella in the rain

I had already posted my blip for yesterday when these two rosellas came to join two currawongs on the balustrade of my verandah. The one on the left seems to be drinking from the rain that is collecting on the top of the balustrade. There is a water bowl just below this point but he/she must have preferred to stay up high. One of the saddest sights I've ever seen was at the side of a country road where one rosella stood guard over the dead body of its partner who must have been hit by a car.
