Meeting Jonny

First of all, thanks so much to all of you for all your best wishes yesterday, you are such a caring community...

Really enjoyed walking along the Manchester canals with youngest and her boyfriend, and then having a steak sandwich at The Wharf, a great pub we found when we took her for her interview however many years ago - that day, we sat by a log fire in wing chairs and read old books from their shelves. No denying the food in England can be top quality, but the prices are something else... I am just thoroughly enjoying swallowing without wincing. 

All of us now back in Sutton Coldfield - just walked round to other daughter's in the pouring rain - busy decorating a Blaze cake for the Big Party tomorrow; thankfully, Beth is doing Allegra's. Amazing work, and the first time she's rolled out icing, made ganache or butter icing - makes me ashamed I never taught her...
