Casas Colgadas......

Say "Hanging Houses", or Casas Colgadas....to anyone in Spain......and they will know that you are talking about the town of Cuenca.....and the impressive medieval wooden houses, that seem to "hang" on to the steep cliffs , of the wide, deep Gorge of the River Huécar.
You can see from the sky, that we had a bright sunny day....after the storms and hail stones of yesterday....we were very happy!
The Old Town of Cuenca has everything you would want from a historic Spanish city......cobbled, narrow streets, City walls and Gates, a Cathedral....all perched on top of a steep hill, so that the town can be easily defended!
