Diary of an Edinburgher

Hedge done!

I was all set to go to the gym when JR came back this morning. But I sat eyeing the hedge, which grew as I looked at it, and decided I had to attack that instead of the bike.

A good two hours of hard labour later, and it was done. JR did all the brushing up, and even got to the top of the big ladder and did the top of the hedge. Archie was puzzled. She used the long clippers, which is pretty hard going. With my sore wrists, I can hardly hold them now, let alone actually use them. However, job done, and it does look good now. For a wee while.

After I'd taken Archie up the hill, JR went shopping and spent the afternoon cooking. She did sit down for a coffee and shortbread, briefly. Archie and I sat down for an episode and a half of 'Billions'.

My ex-physiotherapist, the young Kiwi lass, is leaving town to go travelling, so she and her flatmate are coming for tea. At my request, it's Nigella's Spring Chicken recipe. With pavlova as a bonus! Yum yum.
